lololol 1:41 ish it sounds like he is saying "f***ing knees in"
-
Bad video, the guy doesn't even look strong enough to hold an actual planche.. those e-videos are such low quality... :-\
-
Yes, maybe it's not the most solid piece of advice since he missed pseudo planche push ups and some more good variations. The exercises he shows are rather progressions for a HSPU(handstand push up).
But come on guys stop hating, he seems like a nice guy and doesn't want bad to anyone :)
-
Took one look at this guy and was like "Hell no. You cant do a planche pushup"
-
garbage.
-
This indeed hasnt got any planche in it, maybe you can use what he shows to achieve planche but i dont know if that is true. I'd rather take another vid from youtube for it.
-
I don't see how this is much bad advice, I mean most everything he showed are just practical beginner stuff. If you get hurt doing these, then maybe you shouldn't be doing fitness at all. There is no doubt this helping to build the specific muscles for absolute beginners needed to do a proper planche push up with legs extended fully. I feel this instructor is a absolute beginner.

This eHowcrap always does more harm than good.

@PonchMasterFlexx Some of us like to make sure people are getting good information. If no one speaks out, the viewers who have no idea how to achieve a planche push up will just end up a) wasting their time with things that are not going to help and b) get frustrated. Plus, I have to admit, goofy guys like me feel like it is important to let something like "Expert Village" or this "eHowFitness" channel know when they have failed their viewers through inadequate quality control.
-
:D
-
He may not be able to do them, but still they are great progression exercises and he speaks very well and knows his shit, so stfu haters and keep up the good work dude.
-
Anyone that makes a planche tutorial, especially a video one, SHOULD actually MUST be able to do a planche before they become even, somewhat moderately credible.
haha sorry, I went overboard on the word modifiers.
-
nice video !
-
i am training now 3 weeks for the planche and i was able to do this steps befor i started my training
-
what the f@ck! bulshit
-
funny face
-
@angusmcbagpipes Perhaps. I can't help getting a bit angry when I see something THIS mis-representative. Especially from a channel that calls itself "eHowFitness." That's just unacceptable.
-
@slizzardman Posting the reference to Coach Sommer's info is helpful. Tearing this dude a new one, not so much.
-
I think that most people aspiring to do the planche push up will be fully capable of each "progression" demonstrated. What would be more helpful are the stages after the ones shown because there is a massive gap between the final progression demonstrated and a full planche push up!
-
This guy does NOT know how to do planche push-ups or even the progression for planche push-ups.
-
@slizzardman Man I don't see you dooing the Planche @ All on your sight at least this guy is certified. Even though he can't pull it off completely he explains how to. People full of negativity like you fuel my fire everyday.
-
@MeBZ16 Obviously you do not have the balance. Try walking on rails. If you can, you have the balance. If not. Train up to it. condition your leg coordination, so that you can make micro-adjustments when slipping. Half the frog exercise is about using core strength to support your body over your arms. You do not perch your full body weight onto your arms, you make a rigid pose and DO NOT SHIFT for a full minute. This conditions your body for an all-round tension needed for a proper planche.
-
this vid sucks...no offense
-
Good for absolute beginners to get some conditioning, but that is about it. Pseudo pushups will get you much farther along to a tuck.
he didn't really show the planche push ups lol

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! You, sir, are a blight upon the fitness community in Massachusetts, on Youtube, and anywhere else you end up spouting this sort of crap.
Frogstand is a good start. At least read the whole article from Coach Sommer before pretending to know how to accomplish a planche push up. A better step would be to buy the "Building the Gymnastics Body" book he wrote. He's the head coach for the U.S. JR National team and builds our best gymnasts.
At least then you could parrot an expert.
