Kids Tell Salazar: Save the Polar Bear!

Greenpeace, joined with children and college students, went to the Department of Interior today (May 7th, 2009) to deliver over 150,000 signatures asking Secretary Salazar to protect the polar bear.

Instead of doing something that could actually help, like getting people to sign a petition to introduce a bill to grow our energy independance from fossil fuels and demanding everyone use Solar, Wind & Geothermal) you decide to get people to sign a petition to "save" an animal that is not native to the United States of Amerca, effectively wasting everyone's time >.>

And to all you children who believed Al Gore and Greenpeace tell you the polar bears are dieing . That is a lie. Their parents did not raise them well. They showed polar bears swimming in melted ice because it was filmed in spring when the ice melts.

All this crap started with that parasite of humanity Al Gore. This parasite wants to carbon tax you to death .Greenpeace is his special oops to put fear in people based on lies so he can profit from you.The Earth is now cooling and next you will see Greenpeace fight against global cooling.

If I understand you correctly, you posit that in this world it is not possible to change things for the better, but we see evidence to the contrary everyday.

when i said that you were actually making it worse, i intended it so that you COULD be making it worse in that aspect, and then i said why that would be a possibility, i mean for all we know, if we make earth day everyday the entire world will participate 100%.. but its very unlikely, but the chance that it would improve would be about the same as the chance of it getting worse, in all likelihood, it would probably stay exactly the same, but lose the significance of its name.

OK, I can understand that, but this doesn't make anything worse. Churches and religion serve a particular purpose. Environmental awareness has a useful place in society also. A larger amount of accurate information in people's understanding of any topic is for the good. For one thing it usually keeps them from hitting each other during disagreements, and it may lead to better understanding and even problem solving.

think of it like easter, you'll have the christians that go to church every sunday if easter was made to every sunday, then you get those few who will go on like easter and christmas, then the ppl who dont give a shit. the people who go everyday regardless dont change, the people who go only on easter and christmas will stop altogether because there is no longer significance to the date.

How do you figure making it worse? Maybe a few more become active participants... Earth Day used to be about environmental education and maybe it still is, but most people's exposure is to hear about it on the news for a day or two. Even that is better than never, and it might make a little difference.
