Ms. Riley, neither I nor other alumnus can be your friend while you are acting in your capacity as a Trustee. You and your colleagues have dishonored my University by making the Sandusky scandal into the Penn State scandal, and by costing PSU two honors (Medal of Freedom, Stagg-Paterno Trophy) earned for it by Coach Paterno.

Please spare us the crocodile tears, and give that Nittany Lion pin to somebody who is worthy to wear it.

There is not understanding or admission that they over-reacted and fired Joe without Due Process. In fact, they have repeatedly tried to validate their wrongful termination, calling it a "rogue program", the ridiculous interview in the New York Times, hiring that snake Lanny Davis to represent the board...They have done a unbelievable dis-service to this university by ineptitude and have made this a Penn State and Joe Paterno problem. ALL of them should resign instead of trying to spin.

This video sure looks like an ego-driven self-promoting rationalization of not being able to think for yourself ("had to draw strength from my colleagues") and honor your long time personal family relationship with Joe Paterno, even though you may have known his true character better than any of the other board members. Live now with the memory that you stabbed Joe in the back and deprived him of coaching the last two games of his life, just weeks before he died. Please resign.

Ms. Riley---it really was NOT Joe Paterno's "moral responsibility" to revive your father yet he did so. I find your words empty and devoid of any real emotion. Too bad you did not show 'moral responsibility' to Joe. Alums are watching the actions of the BOT closer than ever----perhaps if transparency was established beforehand--this fiasco of events would never have transpired. Shame on you and the board!
