I'm at university and I've had some professors with accents I can understand and I've had teachers who've had the thickest accent that I could not understand. I and a few people actually dropped it and talk to the dean because we spent more time focusing on what he was saying instead of learning. So, yes I agree with the accent thing but it should be based on each individual. There are some people who can speak more clearly than others.

@MrShiva510 there is no proper anything with language. Language is about communication. If you can get what you are attempting to perpetuate, nothing else matters. So for instance, if you learn slang, plus spanish, plus ebonics, plus old English, you're on top of it. If some new form of English slang was invented by Antartic immigrants, add it to your resume.

Maybe they should also adit the english teachers who teach kids french and Spanish with bad pronunciation and accents...

This is pretty messed up, but i have had a teacher with a HORRIBLE accent. He was Indian, and i literally couldn't understand him half the time. At the same time, he was a college professor teaching a math class, so its not like he's teaching kids english.
