This is an overview of a couple ways to install a killswitch on a guitar or bass. The effect is probably most notable Eddie Van Halen's version of You Really Got Me where he toggled his pickup selector to a silent position and active postion. Buckethead of course kicked it up a couple notches with his dedicated switch. Basically you just need a $2.99 Radio Shack switch (hopefully Switchcraft will make a version someday). Also, to kick it up a notch, no doubt multiple switches could be used to create speedier slices.
I did a quick number that used the killswitch on the bass and the guitar parts. I tried to use a Rapture soft synth that had similar vibe to it for the intro part. Video features neighborhood animals that hang out all the time. The cat occasionally approaches the muskrat and the muskrat runs. The deer is not sure what to make of an 8 pound cat that is curious as to what fresh venison tastes like.

Seems like you have experience installing killswitches. Ever install one on an obscure auto called a 'Capri'? lol

in 1989, I used that same version switch from Radio Shack for the bright headlights toggle on my Baja Beetle. I've wanted to get around to doing a chopper switch on a guitar. Man I got lazy about the guitar electronics since 2007.

The deer was such a curious explorer.
I imagine the cat befriending a black bear from the woods nearby.
That would make an instant YouTube viral. :)
