Camp Echo is located on 200 beautiful acres of fields, trails, and lakes in Burlingham, New York. The camps surroundings provide the perfect setting for trotting horses, rowing boats, riding bikes, hiking trails, and making new friends. With top-notch experienced staff and modern facilities, Camp Echo is among the finest sleep-away camps in the northeast.
Camp Echo takes a discovery through doing approach that encourages kids to try new things and make informed decisions. The camp celebrates effort not achievement in all elements of camp life. Campers can feel comfortable trying new things because there are no grades, comparisons, or reputations. Because all campers wear Echo gear every day, there are no judgments based on appearance or style. Both first-time campers and veterans can leave Camp Echo feeling good about themselves and their capabilities.
Program Description
The Camp Echo program is based around progression as campers mature they gain responsibility, earn privileges and are allowed to choose more activities. Campers attend four activity periods and two electives each day. After dinner, the entire camp takes part in evening activities that range from theater performances to camp-wide games.
The camp promotes a philosophy of "healthy competition" throughout its athletic programs. Every camper makes the team as long as they practice and maintain sportsmanship, cooperation, and self-confidence. Although some campers choose to compete on teams against other camps, competition takes a back seat to individual progress and effort.
For campers who want more specialization in their favorite activity, Camp Echo offers Artist-in-Residence and Athlete-in-Residence programs where professionals share their talents and with campers during an extended stay.
