Lyrics:
I'm up to one, pack a day
Don't remind me, I know what the doctors say
A drink and a drink, without a makers mark
Hell I'll take it straight, right from the start

Cause i'm breathin out, and i'm breathin in
And these days i've got myself, completely convinced

throw me into a train
put a bullet through my brain
i'll jump from a cliff, dive from the sky
i'm tell you now, i ain't gonna die
most people might, just fall apart
but i've been through worse
i'm livin, with a broken heart

i pray for rain, on a night light tonight
cause i know there might be one lucky lightening strike
go and find me a lake, i dont mind jumpin
cause i know no matter how deep
i'll come to the top again

chorus repeat
-------------------------------
This is just a little song i threw together in a few minutes. just how i felt at the moment, but i liked the feeling of it. sometimes i think it's fun not to over develop a song i.e. try to make verses fit, bridges go certain places, etc...but just to play it and sing it the way i felt it at the moment.

anyway! hope you like it! please SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, OR SHARE IF YOU DO!!

thanks for listening!

love from nashville,
Larken

  • Here's a chance to listen to Larkin before a studio gets a hold of her and makes her sound unnaturally slick. This is beautiful for its thick authenticity, and emotional candor.

I love your lyrics Larkin. They shine with a depth of personality, of person-hood, not often seen in music today. Listening to you sing your songs is like listening to Billy Holiday, you impact me powerfully.

Great job, and thanks for posting your work so we can have the experience of genuine artistic force.

  • very good but how about tring maybe just a beat quicker. It may not work but just feels like it might, I understand what you say about keepimg things simple and just leting it out but I alsothink this is how the beat songs start with the emotion and rawness then use it to build on . Again just an opinion but I think you could do a lot with this its very good

  • Beautiful song, beautiful Lady

  • I love this! Thank you for sharing! I agree not all songs need to be picked at or tweeked this one is perfect the way it is! Raw and full of passion!

  • another excellent concept and well constructed song, well done Larken
