  • this is the better movie the remake sucks. sorry I just started to hate all these remake to the good horror movies of the 80s and PG13 them it sucks.

  • No need to be sorry about hating these remakes or revisions or whatever the hell they call them. People had dismissed the slasher film for years, even when it was popular. Now the same people remake and revision left and right, every title they can get the rights to. Kids today may dig the remakes or may just think they suck. What the studios need to do is find up to date horror stories that 21st century teens can relate to. Rehashing the films from when we were teens isn't they way to go.

  • That and Graduation Day. I'm surprised Graduation day hasn't been re-made yet.

  • very cool diotd. good job.

hey just a question did they remake this movie recently?

  • They did. Haven't seen it though and probably won't. Soon Hollywood will run out of 80's slasher films to remake and then maybe someone will come up with an original idea.

  • Jamie Lee Curtis' big disco dance scene is one of my favorite parts of this movie.

Btw, now that Prom Night's been remade, it will only be a matter of time before they get their hands on Happy Birthday to Me. *sigh* I love that movie, still watch it on VHS.

  • Is that Leslie Neilsen's voice narrating the trailer?

  • i knew we were in trouble when they redid psycho alfred hitchcock was turning over in his grave

  • Does the movie or motion picture business REALLY or HONESTLY feel that RE-MAKES are TODAY'S "order of the day?"

  • Actually, Paul Zaza made that song (and all the others actually used in the movie), not Blue Bazar. Bazar made a couple songs for the movie ("All Is Gone" and "Forever") but they weren't used.

  • Good music! Good scenes! Seen this movie several times! One at a time of disaster!

  • Love the song!

  • Thanks so much for this! When it was on TV, they advertised it OFTEN; the poster and the trailer were better than the movie! Oddly, this one was better then the remake! ha!

  • REALLY? Thanks for the tip - does it have any goodies on it? I'm gonna go check that out, although there's something about putting a VHS in the old VCR that gives me the "warm and fuzzies" ;-)

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME is available on DVD, If you're interested.

  • Re-makes, on the whole, don't work because they catagorically fail to capture the magic of the original. Hollywood thinks re-making something means it will captivate the same kind of audience that the original did.

Prom Night (1980) isn't a masterpiece, but it was never created to be one. It does however, capture a feeling, a time and brings back memories that the re-make will never accomplish. My two cents here. I could be wrong. It's happened before ;)
