1. Browser Wars. Apple on Tuesday released Safari 4 beta, http://www.apple.com/safari/ a new version of its browser for Mac OS X and Windows. This update brings a bunch of new features, including a flashy new Top Sites view, a completely redesigned Windows UI, and support for some impressive emerging Web standards. Ars separates the style from the substance.

2. Browser Wars.Has it already been four months since Firefox 3.0 shipped? Seems like only yesterday. It included exciting enhancements to make browsing the Internet faster and more convenient, including redesigns to the address bar, bookmarks and history, and zooming Web pages. Now, Firefox 3.1 beta 1 is out, with a new geolocation service, a new, faster, JavaScript engine, enhancements to the tab-switching, and further refinements to the address bar. It's anticlimactic after the big Firefox 3.0 release -- but then again, it's only the first beta, and it's only a dot-release.

2. Nintendo dsi.

During their Fall Press Conference today, Nintendo have - as expected - announced a new version of the Nintendo DS. Called the Nintendo DSi, it eschews the GBA slot (boo!) in favour of a slight downsizing (it's a little thinner) and a range of improvements. The handheld's screens have been enlarged, and will now be 17% bigger (at 3.25 inches) than those found on the DS Lite. As for the rumoured additions, both have proven to be correct, with "audio enhancements" made to the handheld, while it will also now include a .3 megapixel (640x480) camera. And that's just the start of it.

The DSi also features an SD memory card slot, making it possible to take pictures with the DSi and then view them on the Nintendo Wii. The DSi features a built-in browser, and it's possible to download games and keep them on the DSi.

3. Copy And Paste (iPhone). Digg founder Kevin Rose today "confirmed" that a Apple will implement a version of the much-anticipated "copy & paste" function in iPhone v3.0 (expected to debut next week at Apple's Townhall Event), but said that Apple was not expected to support background apps or processes. The "confirmation", which came in a Diggnation podcast recorded at SxSW in Austin, said that users will be able to "double click" a word to bring up a magnifying glass with two sets of quotes that users can drag forward or background and then click on copy or cut. Rose also claims that it brings a number of other features to bring the iPhone up to par with the Palm Pre, but did not include application multitasking or video (claiming the latter was due to a technical problem with writing to NAND memory too many times/too fast, but that it would come in future releases).

  • @mbe102 also, you can toss it in Windows Live Movie Maker or iMovie, and then just edit it down into 60 seconds, and also record your voice in whichever app your using Windows 7 has the voice recorder and you can save those as I think wma and then toss it in along side your movie on ie WLMM, and then take different takes and figure out what you like. Its a lot more... professional I guess you could call it. Just some advice. Good idea on the 60 Sec Tech though.

  • Dude, you should grab Camtasia, and it would really help you on this one man.
