This is an updated version of my video "Drag Racing In The '60s part 3". I made that video about three years ago and since then I have upgraded my photo and video editing software. I have been able to clean up the photos and video a bit and I added sound to the movies that I extracted from some recent video I took at the drags. I thought it would be fun to add some sound to the old 8mm movies. I also made it widescreen. The soundtrack is me jammin' on some Booker T and the MGs and CCR.

  • This a great video. Thanks for putting this out here. The green and gold gassser at the begining of the video has been for sale the last 2 years at National Street Rods in Kalamazoo. I believe it is called the Dandy Lion. I took some pictures of it both times .

  • @Pahdump58 Yes! I know that car very well and have met the current owner. It was originally powered by a 426 Hemi but it now has a small block Chevy for the street. Thanks for watching and commenting on my video!

    John.

  • I used to race there in 63, 64, and 65. It was a lot better then. I remember watching Big Daddy race there in Swamp Rat III. I don't know what happened to 131 Dragway but it sure has gone downhill.

  • @sidewindermack Thanks for watching and commenting but I TOTALLY disagree with your comment about 131 Dragway going downhill. It is a state of the art facility worthy of an NHRA National event if only NHRA would award them one. I have raced there since the '60s and still race there occasionally and it's a way better track now than it was in the '60s. Different, but better IMHO.

  • Very Nice Vids & Sound Track ! ---- Those Gassers are the real deal for sure !

  • GREEN ONIONS JUST GO WITH DRAG RACING,TURN IT UP AND SHOOT THE KNOBS OFF

  • Willys, Anglia's, 40 Fords, Fiat's, and men that could shift. Pretty cool vintage film, must be rare these days. I have a bunch of 8mm in the basement from that erra, my dad and I went to Dover NY? I think, saw some big names there, The snake and Mongoose, Big Daddy, Dick Landys Dodge,Little Red Wagon and lots of gassers, maybe I got some on film. You know any place I can send them and get them converted to dvd? Thanks, Nice stuff.
