@tmpol I don't think you need the rights to cover a song...that being said, Jerry and the rest of the Dead are/were pretty open, chill people. I think they would be proud to see their music being covered by someone who is as passionate about music as they are.
it's not like the Grateful Dead never covered songs they didn't write (OTIS REDDING - SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY) anyone?? :)

I too am a huge fan of both the Dead/Jerry and Sublime/Bradley - If the rest of the Dead members thought that this/they sucked then they would not have allowed them the rights to cover it - right. Sad that Jerry and Bradley had more in common than being extremely talented artists, they both had the love/need for heroin. I HATE HEROIN!!!

i am a dead head i love the dead. RIP jerry but you can't say this would make jerry turn inhis grave. bradley oviously loved jerrrry and liked the dead. i love the sublime version. i hate wen old dead heads can't except a newer bands rendition of a dead song. RIP bradley and Jer- Bear and LOU DOG
