Leon Antoine replaced Deek and this group had a successful recording career with King Records. Antoine and Essex or Essix (spelled both ways) seemed to alternate recordings and the King labels listed the group members on the label. The first record lists no members but the 2nd thru 4th list Antoine. The next two list Scott and the Antoine returns. They released 9 singles in all and all are quite good. 'Melody Of Love' is recorded twice, once with a saxophone break and once without.

  • Beautiful

  • @kingoliver45 No Bill Kenny is the greatest but Holmes was amazing.

  • this is incredible, very quickly have i become fond of this singer.

  • 400 of these views can be credited to me. I probably listen to this 6 or 7 times a day. Im starting to like Holmes more than Bill Kenny. Holmes had amazing concept of dynamics. Thanks for sharing

  • jimmy holmes had a special voice...thank you king label for the releases by the ink spots with jimmy holmes

  • So where are all those persons who commented that all Ink Spots songs sound the same, clearly they haven't got around to hearing this one yet!

  • To those who responded to AmandaBlueHeron, I respectfully disagree that those groups mentioned can compare to this Ink Spots' performance. In the comment, I think AmandaBlueHeon was referring to the smooth-as-butter harmony (which in itself is rather rare), and especially the operatic voice of the lead singer, the likes of which is nonexistent in today’s pop songs. It's also rare in old pop songs. Perhaps Roy Orbison or Bill Kenny of the older Ink Spot group had somewhat comparable voices...

  • @AmandaBlueHeron

    Necrophagist.
