@AngelaBaby289 Because she enjoys singing mature songs that showcase her voice now instead of cutie girl songs.
BoA did a similar thing and does more cool dancing/R&B styled pop instead of the cutie girl act. I love all styles of both of their music!

@AngelaBaby289: At aged 18 she started to steer away from her super idol image as she wanted to be respected more as a singer than an idol, and to create a more mature image. Over the years she scaled down her idol stuff- GAM was one of the last idol fun things she did. Then, for a couple of years she did almost nothing. Earlier this year she was diagnosed with endometriosis (painful condition) which explains her lack of concert performances and will probably mean even less ones in the future.
