you have cleary never flown an airbus, or probably a boeing. It is a little different in the real world rather than MS flight sim.........

Disengage the authothrust/autothrottle in either boeing or 'bus and engine control is all yours.........

And in the airbus we still make the decisions, not the comps'.

I t might have been a completely different outcome in a Boeing airplane. The computers in the A320 would not let the pilot put on more power; ina Boeing he makes the decision, not the computers.
