What began as an electronic music collaboration between StayC Meyer (aka Butterfly Hambone) and Nikki Wolgamott (aka Viking Snocone), Furniture Girls turned a corner in the early 2000s.
At the time, Nikki was interning as a sound engineer for producer Bubba Jones, owner of Seattles ContactCreate Studios. Upon hearing what the pair were working on — an edgy blend of industrial, dance and hip hop, with lyrical topics ranging from urban culture clashes to otherworldly romance — Bubba decided to get involved.
First, he signed on with the band as its principal producer and lead guitarist. Next, he set out to add a drummer (Thane) and bassist (Jim) to the Furniture Girls music, which had previously only existed on Meyers and Wolgamotts drum machines.
Since then, Furniture Girls have quickly raised their profile in the Seattle music scene, growing a loyal fan base while sharing the stage with a number of touring bands as well as national acts Sky Cries Mary, My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult and Kristeen Young.
The groups most recent headlining appearances were at the rock/ fashion show Women Who Rock & the Men Who Love Them and at High Dive (Seattle) as part of the Noise for the Needy festival.
