Jumping collection cues - this is what I'm currently working on with Dazzle as it is without a doubt her weakest skill.

  • Very interesting. It's cool to see how much tighter she's wrapping with that extra stride. How did you get her to understand the 'ground bar' in the first place, by just watching and C/T'ing until she figured out the connection?

  • We had done a great deal of jump training before I started this, so she already had the skill for those wraps. The ground bar was really a way for me to uphold criteria and make a clearer "boundary" for her if you will.

So right from the beginning she was adding in that stride and I could selectively reward it. :)

  • Fantastic job! It's incredible how increased the quality of the wrap is with that extra stride. Very nice work. Are you able to apply this now without the extra bar? And integrated amongst other obstacles? Or is that a longer term goal?

  • She is already pretty good with added a stride on-course. We still need to do more reps like this to build that muscle memory but so far she's lookin' good!
