How would one determine if this 2008 ad's account of President Obama's relationship with William Ayers is guilty of a straw man misrepresentation? How would you determine if it is an example of guilt by association? How would you determine if it makes a fallacious appeal to fear? One may be able to answer all of these questions if one merely identifies if any hyperbolic language is used when giving this account.
