Acquired a 10' diameter Intex inflatable pool for use as my hospital/quarantine tank. My old tank was not big enough for jumbo fish as it was only a 4' diameter tub. This Intex pool is inexpensive yet comfortable for koi and easily installed, stored and transported.

  • How do you usually quarantine a fish before a show? What do you do with the water, just add salt? And also do you just fast them?

  • @poisonXvenom It is good to quarantine the show koi at least a week before the show. No feeding during the quarantine so that water will not be fouled up during the transportation process as well as during the show itself. Show tanks are normally salted to 0.3% and in some cases 0.5% (check with the organizers), so raising the salination level during quarantining is to prepare the koi for the actual show conditions.
