Here is Actor, Vaudevillian and early recording star Edward M. Favor (1856-1936) singing "That's Where I come in". The record is a 2 minute Black Celluloid type made by the Indestructible Phonograph Company of Albany, New York. The Graphophone is a Columbia Model BF "Peerless" from 1905. The BF came with a extra long mandrel to accommodate both the 4" 2 minute cylinders as well as the new Columbia 6" 3 minute "Twentieth Century" Cylinder records.

  • Good song love Favors music but the cylinder was scrached i think??? because it skipped a few times.

  • You also have to make sure that the cylinder is fixed tight on the mandrel, if it is the least bit loose it can also cause a skips. This cylinder is pretty clean, but a 160 rpms, it really does not take much in the way of imperfections to cause a skip.

  • Yes just search my Victrolaman postings and you will also find "Who threw the Overalls in Mrs. Murphy's Chowder?", "Once Again" (on an early Zonophone record), and also "McGinty at the Living Pictures", all by Edward M. Favor. I have several other great records by Favor that I will be putting on when I have a chance.
