Bombmiester was produced by a company called Interfilm. They installed complex electronic projection systems in theaters that allowed audiences to "chose" which plot line to follow. I directed this "Interactive Movie" which was amazing. Sadly, the company was ahead of it's time and went bankrupt before the film's release.

  • I worked at a Loews Theater that had the system. I saw the innards. Four Pioneer LD-V8000 laserdisc players connected to a 486 computer. It ran DOS3.22, WIN3.1, and 4X Plextor, *caddy type* CD drive. We showed Payback and RFYL. Then 1993 WTC bombing in NYC happened. We didn't get Bombmeister. Was able to get 1 of the 4 LD players. Motor only had 880 hours of spin time - that's nothing. Motor rated for 10,000 hours. I use it to play my anime LD's. Pioneer 8000 player rocks as a home unit!

  • So how did the audience choose which plot line to follow?
