  • Okay, fair enough.

  • never said there was anything wrong with you. i just REALLY and TRULY enjoy the fables saga and thought i would share my opinion. that is all. it's a free country dude.

and IMO, fables is amongst classic graphic novel literature. that's the only point i was trying to get across.

  • Okay, maybe that was a bit unecesarily caustic, but I kind of take offense at the implication that there must be something wrong with me if I can't on board with a book that everyone else likes. I thought that was kind of the whole point of these videos and boards.

  • sigh. whatever.

  • Oh fuck, you've got me. If thousands of people think it's great, I take back everything I said and am out the door to my LCS RIGHT NOW to pick up every trade they have! Hell, maybe I'll buy TWO OF EACH!

Thanks for helping me correct what could have been a GRIEVOUS MISTAKE.

  • ya but i didn't say the 2nd and 3rd book weren't any good, it's just that you come to appreciate them more later as they are set-up to a greater tapestry. you may not dig them as much as yer reading them, but...ah whatever.

fables will always stay in my (and thousands of people's) top trades of all time list. do what you please.

  • That's a fair enough argument Nkerklaan.

    J.

  • Well sure, Jose, but just because Fables is better than a shitty book doesn't excuse its lukewarm start. But I have to defend this same basic argument constantly whenever I tell people I only read the first paragraph of a novel before I decide if I'm going to keep reading it or not. There's just too many things for me to read to bother with stuff that starts weakly.
