Ford has created the Explorer America concept for the 2008 North American International Auto Show. The Explorer America concept delivers an approximately 20 to 30 percent fuel-economy improvement -- depending on engine selection -- while providing room for six and their gear, along with moderate towing and off-roading capabilities.

I could see where this would fit in the Ford lineup (The Explorer would the more off-road unibody crossover whereas the Flex would be a MPV) ,but the question is that will they build it?

My imagination of feature SUV's should have High and Low gear in the transaxle. High for fuel economy with no tow, and Low for towing and no fuel economy just like now. LOL.

If a car company put a concept like this on the road, I bet it would sell really well as long as it was priced fairly. People would buy it just to have something different!
