i used the green screen in my basement, a panorama picture off of google images, final cut pro, a video camera, and me jumping!

this is to all of the people wondering how I did this...
I based this on a few tutorials I read about this effect, but here is how it works.
you need...
1. a green screen
2.camera with tripod
3.a computer for editing and keying (compositing)

what I did was film myself on the green screen and I did the jump, turned my body a little bit, did it again, and so on.

then I went onto google images to find a full 360 panoramic picture like this... http://www.vernk.com/images/Starfire/Launch_June2005/Panoram a_360Degrees_BrothersLaunchSite_11June2005_HiRes_byVernKnowl es.jpg
then when I edited I found the position I wanted to be in on all of the turns, composited them and put in the back ground. for the background, i had to zoom in, then, over time i made the background move to achieve the "360" effect. this may help a little more if u want to do this...

  • the only problem is that the background is not following the actualy phootage angles, because the way that the background moves is just some one spinning in a circle with a camera for video camera, rather than actually completing a circle around one pivot point, also that your supposed to shoot while your in the air, not when you fall. tell me im not right.

also let me guess, you used andrew kramers action movie essentails or some cheap gif. that u found on the internet.

  • what? the background does move with it but it just doesn't end up at the exact same place bc i used a panoramic picture i found on google images and i didn't feel like looping it around, well i actually did do tht but sometime after i had posted this :-P

  • thats cool but you need a green screen

  • I used one lol glad to see it worked

  • wow, prety good,im guesing you had some sort of podeuim that you put in when ur knees go up,then did some sort os stop-motion around you,or you had multiple cameras, then did u remove the camera and the podiuem and landed, then put in background and slo-mo.

i doubt this is right but..can only try.

  • nope, sorry, no podium at all or multiple cameras

see all

  • Nice try nooby keep practicing !

  • is a gun..necessay for bullet time?

  • how do u do that????

  • what you did was shot you jumping, then did the stop animation trick of jumping and taking a picture, moving the camera a bit, then jumping again the same way and taking a picture, moving the camera bit then repeating the process untill finally you have a complete series of photos from every angle, then you just jumped for last time and recorded your self falling.
