  • How often should you clean a gun? I had the urge to buy a number of guns before the election (not to get political) and take them all out to fire a few clips per gun.I guess this is a variable question,or is it written in stone you must clean them every single time you use them. Thanx so much for your time .They are very informative . Howard

  • I personally clean them evrytime I use them and at least every month if i don't. You may only need to use a gun for defense once in your life and it better function properly. I think if you were to ask most gun owners the they would answer about the same. I have an AK-47 which is know for being extremely reliable in the worst conditions. Some say you never have to clean them ever and they will still function. I clean mine anyways after everyuse. I think it's kind of fun too. I highly...continue

  • ...continued..recommend you buy a gun or 5. This administration is going to do terrible things to our constitutional rights. There will most likley be an "assualt weapons" ban again. Stock up on ammo too. They are going to be coding it and taxing the hell out of it. Possibly making it unafforadable to the average joe. Train with your guns often and become effecient and effective with them. Thanks for the support Howard. It's very much appreciated.

  • Quick question , How do you clean and oil the magazine? I always thought oil was bad for the bullets so I would oil the mag and let it sit for a while , then wipe the mag off until almost dry just to let the oil get into the metal. What do you do?

  • I've been using breakfree lately too. I was actually cleaning my Kahr as you were watching this. I went to a new range in my area today. I try to keep oil away from the bullets too. Eventually it could seep into the primer. Then the one time you actually need to use your gun, you end up getting shot. I just wipe the magazine with a dry cloth. If it's really caked on use oil or something but make sure you wipe it all off. My guns don't get too bad. I clean them regularly. Thanks Buddy

  • is that silicon wipe reusable??

  • Yes Kevin, if you keep it in a sealed package it can be used over and over again. Also if you feel that you do need a new one, they're only like 3 bucks. Thanks

  • Remember boys and girls. Clips go in your hair, Magazines go in your firearms.

  • @ryanjcus case in point Fast and Furious. The admin looks like they were caught dirty handed on this one.

  • @demmylowther well there are certain levels of cleaning i do, buy a bore snake for you gun and use it every time you finish shooting for the day. doing this goes a long way to not having to take it apart for a while. depending how often you go shooting, i would say, you should take it apart and oil it after about 200-300 rds fired, OR if you don't shoot that often, once every 1-2 months. because the oil dries out passively just sitting there, but slower. the vid showed areas to oil pretty well.

  • @demmylowther i clean after every use and once per month if i don't manage to fire it that month

  • @SPLmadman My Taurus 907 slim will jam a lot if i use steel cased bullets. I have heard that most guns do the same. Try using brass cased bullets and see if it still jams. If it does I would take it somewhere and get it checked out

  • @seiko53 Yeah, I enjoy doing it as well. Some people don't clean their guns at all until they have shot thousands of rounds. I have no idea how someone could do that.

  • @SPLmadman

A lot of guns are factory oiled and when they are brand new the oil isnt quite soft enough to let the gun perform perfectly. i have a taurus 24/7 and it did the same thing. after shooting it about 100 times the oil should break up and the gun should work very well.

  • i have a question i was at the range today and me and my dad just bought a hand gun but i was shooting and the gun jammed 3 times why would it jamm not clean enough

  • Good job dude...
