been looking at southern louisiana on google maps and am wandering why the land looks like long fingers stretching out. Is the salt eating away at the land creating this? I've noticed this somewhat around Florida too.

Well, I didn't live there long enough to think of it as a "golf." It looked like the ocean to me. My husband's company brought in tons of sand and relined the beach, so I probably know a little more than you think. So where does the gulf water come from if not the ocean?

I didn't like the sand as it had black spots and lots of dead jelly fishes. We were told the black spots were from the offshore oil rigs. I don't know. I did like watching the dolphins or porpoises playing--whichever. We considered buying a place there by the ocean, but we thought it was a little expensive. Nothing like today, I'm told.
