zippo not a good idea unless you are a smoker. Lighter fluid tends to dry out..

My EDC consist of my leatherman wave, fire striker, mini mag light (all of which fit in one pouch on my belt). By back pack has a first aid kit, 2 x P2 + charcoal dust mask, (great for dealing with asbestos and first aid). Work gloves, reflective vest, light weight wet weather gear, 2lt water, food and a map.

Sounds like a lot but isn't. i use all but the first aid kit on a daily basis. make sure you use all of your items as much as possible. otherwise you forget what you have

flashlights have come along way since you probley purchased that surefire if your interested in upgrading. you can have one for $30 thats brighter/smaller/longer run time. try fenix e- series or even surefire knockoffs like solarforce. dont let the term knockoff scare you there basically superior in every way but they copied the surefire bodies
