I want my MTV...still. Even though this video is more Gospel Music Channel material and that is a good thing...no, a great thing.and a God thing. I video taped 3 versions (there is that 3 thing again!) of us doing Third Day's "Revelation". If you saw our other version, the intro is from our sound check on Sunday and the rest is from the service on a Saturday night, but on Sunday's version the tripod pointed the camera up towards our church's ceiling and to Heaven (after the first three songs ironically enough) and I had this pretty good audio version from Sunday with a video of the ceiling. So to quote Third Day, "Tell me should I stay here or do I need to move?" well the tripod and camera decided to move and the video camera didn't get some accidental showmanship on my part of me losing my guitar strap during the instrumental at the end of the song and me playing the acoustic rhythm guitar on my knees until the song ended.
So since I was pleased with the band's performance I mentioned to some of my bandmates that I would maybe do a video of the song to our audio from Sunday. I got this strange idea (or a revelation if will) to shoot the video by sticking my video camera and tripod in a little wagon that was my kids when they were little and somehow pull it behind me while I play the guitar. I decided to go to Hinckley Park at sunset, couldn't find a rope to pull the wagon, so I got an extension chord to tie to the wagon's handle and the other end I tie sloppily around my waist.
When I get to the park this kid half my age is walking his dog and I ask him how he is doing. He says, "Great, I am walking with my dog and Jesus". So I tell this is great news because I am here shooting a Christian music video to our band performing Third Day's "Revelation". He doesn't know the song or Third Day, he tells me a bunch of things about Jesus coming back soon because us Christians haven't done our job, gives me a book about someone's interpretation of The Bible and the second coming of Jesus, and asks if he can pray with me. So directly before this video was shot this kid, aka Vladimir, prays over me.
