  • I appreciate the Aussie assistance these islamic extremist zelots are a danger to the whole world as they have proven in mumbai,africa,7/7 in london and 9/11 in the states as well as many other attacks War is a terrible thing but some fights have to be

  • "they started a fight and we definitely finished it" like I said don't mess with the Aussies

  • @printphotos That's right.

  • @wattlebough Wait just to clarify stuff 2nd battalion will be the equivalent to the RM's in coming years ? Cheers

  • @printphotos Cool mate. Well it sounds like the Aussie Army 2nd Battalion (2RAR) is for you then. From next year they'll probably start training with the RMs for the marine role. If you enter "Navantia LHD" in to the Youtube search you'll get a glimpse of the new ships they'll be operating from. They're pretty darned impressive. Cheers mate!

  • @wattlebough Thanks alot for the info i wanna actually do something with my military career when i join .. and RM's have always been interesting and cause i live in Aus well yeah you get it ;p

  • @printphotos In Australia our military is orientated towards standard army infantry and special operations (including Maritime SpecOps- SASR/ CDTs). At this time, our marine capability is limited and we have no direct equivalent to the Royal Marines or USMC. From 2014 Australia will be acquiring two massive Amphibious Assault ships similar to HMS Ocean, and the Australian Army 2nd Battalion (2RAR) will be trained by the Royal Marines and USMC to perform as Marines.

  • @wattlebough What regiment of the Australian military is most like the royal marines ??

  • @printphotos The Australian Commandos (2nd Commando Regiment) are Special Forces that are tasked with direct action and special recovery (hostage rescue and rescue of POWs). They are all static line parachute qualified, and use helicopter, repelling, fast roping and vehicle insertion, but have an amphib capability also. (To see some of their earlier training footage see my video Australian Special Forces 4RAR).

  • Does anyone know the differences between Australian commandos and Royal marine commandos (uk) Do they do the same roles like are the Australians an amphibious unit ?? really need to know !!!!
