The Community Against Preventable Injuries (Preventable.ca) interviews E.J. Brewer, Inspector for OIC, North District Traffic Services about the dangers of driving while fatigued and impaired. We learn that about 30,000 injuries per year are the result of crashes. The number of fatalities involving vehicles are about 400 a year, about 4 times the homicide rate in the province. Fatigue is, unfortunately, very difficult to measure. Chances of survival and reduction of injury increase with proper seatbelt use.
