Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts chartered a special steam excursion out of Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, New Hampshire on Sunday, July 31st, 2011. Headed north into the White Mountains, steam locomotive 7470, a former 0-6-0 switcher for the Canadian National, hauled a five car consist including first class coach - Carol P. Reed, vista dome - Dorthea Mae, coaches - Mount Bemis and Mount Willard, and open air car - Silver Cascade. Diesel locomotive 252, a GP-38 built in 1966, assisted the consist for purposes of dynamic breaking. The excursion's northern most destination was Hazens before its return back to North Conway with 252 in the lead and 7470 trailing.
In this video are the various photo run bys including Frankenstein Trestle, Willey Brook Trestle, Fabyan, Quebec Junction, and Hazens. Also included in this video is 4740's spin on the North Conway turn table.
