Seven years after the signing of the peace agreement, can the Protestant and Catholic communities succeed in not only living in peace but also in forgiving one another?
The ground situation is still very tense. The walls that were built throughout Belfast to separate the Catholic areas from the Protestant ones are still in place. In the midst of all this, reconciliation is still taking place. Former prisoners and activist from both sides form networks whose role is to avoid violence and misunderstandings. Protestant ministers and Catholic priests are uniting, mixed marriages are on the rise, and more schools and shared institutions are integrating. Yet, will it be enough to counter the equal rise in extremism?
