In January 2006, I lost my beloved Chryssi, a 22 yo 17hh Hanoverian mare, to a deadly infection, despite her valiant fight. Although our time together was too short, she will always be my "heart" horse...
This is for her-

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.

There is always food and sunshine and everyone is warm and comfortable. All who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again just as we remember them in days gone by.

They play all day with each other. There is one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth and had to be left behind. So, each day they'll run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!! The nose twitches!! The ears are up!! The eyes are staring!! Their eager body will begin to quiver. And then one suddenly runs from the group, their legs carrying them faster and faster.............

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace in joyous reunion. Your hands will once again caress your beloved friend. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting friend so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, NEVER again to be separated.
