What is so "wonderful" about "the cross" - the place where Jesus suffered a horrific and humbling death? The Bible says "the message of the cross" is "the power of God." God chose, through the cross, Jesus' sacrificial death, to forgive us for all our sins and to make a way for us to be be "reconciled" to God.
