Cervical Disk Replacement Surgery C6 - C7 due to ruptured disk - Scar that is left

Currently I am taking time out from responding to e-mails due to the overwhelming response I have had from so many people undergoing similar treatment. Even though I can't respond, I wish you all the best in your journey through surgery and recovery. You can however, still join my facebook group and share your experiences with others on there.

I had a disk at C6 - C7 replaced in July 2010 at Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry, UK by Hussien El-Maghraby. I did loads of research prior to my surgery and found very little relating to the wound and scar that would be left. So I made this showing progress from the day of surgery to 3 months after. I hope this helps someone with their research into this surgery. Mine went great and the pain in my shoulder and arm has now gone. See my 3 other videos on here also as they are all different but will help if you are having this surgery. Lost your email addie. Did you do exercises after your surgery? Did you have headaches? Skull pain? The back of my skull hurts after walking a few minutes. Been 2 weeks tomorrow since surgery - day 14. THX!

Just had Cervical Disc Replacement Sept 22 C6/7. I can't seem to sleep on my back without flem/mucus building up. Can't find anything written about this. I can somewhat sleep on my side. Is this a side effect? Will it go away? It keeps me up - and feels like I am going to choke.

@MyWittsend3 I'm not sure if this is a side effect. I didn't have this issue but my advice would be to monitor it and if it's still happening after a week, to speak to a doctor.

How very kind of you to put this video up, to help others in this way is truly a very human and good thing, forgive me for not being more eloquent I'm up to my eyeballs with Tramadol and other meds right now. I have one question for you which I thought I'd put here in case other people wished to ask the same question Did this op actually stop the pain once healed?

@restojon1 HI there!! Thanks for your comments. This op stopped all the horrible pain I had in my shoulder and arm yes. However, people who have other issues with their necks such as a lot of wear and tear will find they are left with a bit of neck pain - I currently have this. However, the nerve pain has all gone and my arm is fine. Hope you feel better soon. Am happy to answer any other questions. Regards, Sarah

hi there i had this opperation with two baguera artificial disc between c5 ac6 and c6 c-7. is still have pains and numbness and fatigue in my arm and less in me feet somtimes a little more than before the operation. i have been taking cortizone 3 weeks before the surgery and now and reducing it to 0 this week by taking just halh of a pill. Is it normal tha is stell feel fatigue and numbness
