The price of copper has no where to go except up for the long term. Supply cannot keep up with demand. Asia and Africa are soaking up all the copper they can get their hands on.

  • synthetic meterial will probably make copper useless. Science will kill metal prices.

  • @adrianwillis360 Science has been trying for a long time to replace copper with no luck.

  • 1982 pennis and b4 are copper

  • @brieman2 1982 was the change over year. That year, the mint started making 95% copper then switched over to copper coated zinc. I've found that around 75% of '82's are copper. The most reliable way to tell the difference is to weigh them. A copper cent is 3.1 grams while a zinc is 2.5 grams. Will

  • I'm usually complaining that I have too many nickels and pennies. Now I won't. I have 2 huge old water fountain glass jars and will try filling them up now. Thanks for the info. I will quietly tell a couple of my family and friends too.

  • @shadowfaxx1 Make sure you pick a good place for those glass jars. They will get too heavy to move in no time. Will

  • Thanks to you I have over 30 pounds of copper penny's saved.

  • @duke55925 Right now it is illegal to melt them. I believe that will change once copper cents become scarce, but I really don't care if it does because I never plan on melting them. One day copper cents will be as popular as junk silver coins are now for investing in my opinion. There already is a thriving market for copper cents on Ebay.

  • @terminal99 Well they can almost recreate the big bang, so they can't be to far off. I would sell before 2030. I'm buying silver and ill sell in ten years.

  • @eyewarnedyou but not everyone think of it that way. i told my parent about collecting copper pennies but they dont listen to me cus they think im just a kid saying nonsense stuff. at school, everyone toss pennies n also the copper one.

  • would nickels be a good alternative since u don't have to sort them?

  • ph mining is in my hometown of milwaukee they pay well great play to be employed

  • im just taking a swing in the dark but it may be good to stockpile zinc because just like copper it will eventually become scarce because it is being used so much as a replacement for copper

  • i heard that copper is supposed to go up to $7 a pound message if you want the full story message me. it was on yahoo i think and i only remember some of it .
