The thing is, this style is possible without even using the flat iron. You can skip the flat iron part if you just rub non-flaking gel into your hair while it's wet, and then you blow dry it up. Then continue from there with the other steps. Because blow drying is a lot easier and less intimidating than flat ironing for people that aren't used to this kind of thing.
