Valkyria Chronicles 2 Part 96 (END)

Here is the last battle and ending of Valkyria Chronicles 2 on the PSP. The last 7 or so battles I did in one sitting without any previous experience with them. The reason I say this is because if I figured out the gimmick for this battle earlier I could have won it easily in 2 turns instead of 4.

As promised here are my thoughts on the game having just finished playing it. I did not find the game fun or enjoyable at all, it isn't bad or anything I just didn't find it fun.

The main reason I didn't find it fun was how repetitive the game becomes. There's very little variety between the missions or even the mission settings. On top of that because of how the grading system works you have hold the line, defend allied base camp, and destroy all enemy objectives all played the exact same way.

I did not like the fact that each month you were required to complete a specific number of skirmishes before you could even unlock the story mission. It felt like a stupid gimmick to artificially lengthen the game due to being forced to complete more missions before advancing.

I did not like how the class upgrades were handled, mostly because of the credit system. It went against the idea of the first game where you can use who you want because everyone was the same level and class. Now unless you want to spend hours trying to get credits for everyone to get upgraded you end up just sticking with a core team of people for the entire game.

The difficulty of the game made it boring as well, very few missions in the game are even remotely challenging. I am not counting the post game stuff because the main game was so boring I have no desire to even attempt any of the post game stuff. Why should I have to play through 40 hours of crap just to get to the point the game gets interesting?

I think I'll stop now even though there's a bunch of other stuff that I don't like about this game.

@damanioum Component cables for PSP3000 to Blackmagic Intensity Pro. Switched display mode on PSP to alternate display. Captured video using Virtual Dub to crop out the black border that appears when you normally view PSP display on an HD TV.

@onehitok Like I said at the time I didn't realize at first you had to shoot him in the back to be able to do damage to him, I was initially thinking it was like the last fight in VC1 where there was something in the stage you had to do to lower his defense. Which is why I was capturing the camps.

If I realized earlier you had to hit his back, I could have beaten him on turn 2 with the same strategy I used to beat Dirk in August.

I actually played this before the first one. At first, it was just one of the most fun games on the PSP. Then I got really into the storyline.

You must be retarded not to enjoy this game, seriously.

Well Baldren Gassenarl in Valkyria form is much too tough to kill, however the energy sources must be around the Dandarius.

their land was pillaged and conquered by the germans till mid 1940s

then for nearly half a century, was conquered and pillaged by the soviets.

Most of the protagonists in this game were killed in the war

the survivors lived the rest of their lives of the valkyria before reality settled in.

gotta say very good game but i would've liked more voice acting like in the first.

also how the f did a civil war last longer than an invasion, number 1 took slightly shorter than 7 months while number 2 took a whole year

yea i was disappointed no one hooks up. hell you have 2 missions to get Morris and Coleen together and they just exchange letters?! I GOT SHOT AT BY A TANK TO GET YOU TWO TOGETHER! They'd better fuck and have 15 damn kids after this crap!
