The shelter stayed open after the city had shut off its water due to unpaid bills, but had been ordered by Fulton County health officials to vacate the building if water service hadn't been restored.

  • Let's be honest, we all know what this is REALLY about...this shelter occupies prime downtown real estate and with all the new development in the area, there's no need of a homeless shelter to remind folks of those who are forgotten and displaced in Atlanta.

  • This has been happening all over the country for as long as I can remember.. Wildpeachhat737 is 100% right.

  • The operating practices at THIS homeless shelters should charge a fee to the 400 adult men each $10 a week = $4000 a week x 4week = $1600 a month x $1600 for 12 month come out to $192.000 a year. their a lot of shelters are charging homeless men a fee

  • They live outside. They sleep on the benches. And they come up to me everyday asking me for money. Why don't the bums just get a job? Instead of trying to sponge off of me? While there are some individuals who take advantage of the homeless lifestyle. Proverbs tells us that a lazy person hates work: “The sluggard's craving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work” (21:25); he loves sleep: Yes I believe helping but begging all day is not the answer.

  • It's all about the bucks, & the City doesn't give a hoot -in- hell about the homeless, or their plight it's all image The Rich want this blight to disappear it scares them witless to see 500 or so homeless black men roaming their lilly white business district.

  • tell the homeless to stop doing drugs

  • @wpderon dude do you proofread what you are writing. You really sound illiterate and incompetent of understanding even the smallest task. You never know anyone's circumstances. They could be going through a lot of stuff in life or maybe so sick where they are not able to work or provide for their families. Remember you are just one paycheck from being homeless. Sometimes if you are fortunate to have money and/or food and you are able to give, there is nothing wrong with giving.

  • @realbasketball first tell those lazy client to go school and stop hanging around supermarket beg'n 4 money don't u guy feed these bum

  • @wpderon IDIOT WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING BOUT I DIDN'T INTERPRET ANYTHING YOU WROTE.....MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR 4TH GRADE EDUCATION...LETS WORK ON PROOFREADING OUR COMMENTS BEFORE WE POST SOMETHING TO CRITICIZE AND DEGRADE OTHERS......DUDE JUST READ WHAT YOU WROTE AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT P.S. YOU WROTE TOO MANY **** IN ASSES....EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO EXCELLENCE

  • what don't des men et a job! i pass by the street some time i see uy smokin look like do thing they should not be doing. you have almost 400 men living each night each pay $10 a week come out to $4000 a week x that by month come out 16,000 x that by 12 month aleast 192.000 a year so des men need to get off there lazy a*****s and help out and need stop put blame on city 100%
