I think every video I have of myself racing motocross in the pro class showcases my crashing skills. In this, and in future additions, I always seem to end up tipping over or something bad happens that leads to an undesirable end.
This race is no different. Although, of all the times I have raced Sean Naslund I can only remember one time that I beat him. He was always a little smoother, used better riding technique and usually got better starts. It seemed like he was always at least a hair bit faster than me most everywhere on the track. It drove me nuts, and oftentimes I would try to ride over my head in hopes of being able to either make up time or stay ahead of him.
In this race, I get a rare holeshot and started ahead Sean. However, it didn't take him long to move into second place and start applying to pressure. Watching the video, it looks so obvious. Especially in the corner that I crashed on. I mean, for cripes sake, I almost crashed there on the first lap because it was a bad line, why did I choose that same bad line again?
And, what about those great friends of mine? That's Russell and Stanley making commentary in the background behind the camera. They are supposed to be my friends? With friends like them, who needs enemies...
Mr. Mclaughlin. Boy this video brings back the memories. After watching the video, I remember the race. I was bummed you tipped over. That was a tough corner to stay up on. I remember getting out of shap there as well. I remember yelling at you to get up. I was preparing for a battle with you. We had some great times and your family was always very nice to me. Hoping to see some more. Maybe hannegan, arenacross or even the gravel pit.
Keep them coming.
Sean

This is awesome to see an older video of guys racing out at hannegan. I didn't start racing out there until 1997, and its neat to see the track then & now. Good riding as well. "Not saying your vintage or anything"

I love the disbelief in the commentators when you were leading the race...priceless
