Silent 8mm home movie. It took a little work to transfer to video because the reel had been damaged in places, and is missing the beginning. Castle Films. Year unknown
This is a 1936 Walter Lantz cartoon for Universal. It actually was made with sound, but sometimes the home movie companies would make such cartoons silent (it's cheaper not to print any sound). However, the sound version of this film is currently not available.
More info: The Walter Lantz Cartune Encyclopedia (look on Google).
Walter Lantz actually produced this 1936 "Oswald" cartoon (and directed it)- when distributor Charles Mintz took the "Lucky Rabbit" away from Disney in 1928, his animation unit was replaced by Lantz's in '29, who produced the series until 1938.
Hahaha, Oswald may have changed beyond all recognition, but only he would use rockets and dynamite to exterminate a gopher. XD

I have a 16mm sound print of this film which I then transferred to DVD. Actually the later re-designed Lantz "Oswald's" (post 1936-37)are quite rare.
