This is LoJack for Laptops by Absolute Software -- Explained
Lost or stolen laptops used to disappear into the ether but, now there is a solution.
Meet Jay. Jay arrived home and it hit him like a bolt of lightning. With Absolute Software, his laptop is protected. No matter who has it. Or where it is.
To start, Jay logged into Absolute's Customer Center to find his laptop's location. He was relieved that it was likely still at the coffee shop. So, he sent commands to freeze it, and display a message with his phone number. An hour later he picked it up, with all of his files intact.
Now, instead, let's say Jay saw that his laptop appeared stolen and in another city. In this case he'd file a police report, delete sensitive files and report it to Absolute. From there the Absolute Theft Recovery Team would spring to action CSI style and put serious tools to work to help recover it.
In both cases, Jay was so relieved -- a personal disaster was averted.
