Animal Collective Open Their Show at Prospect Park, Then Apologize for Messing Up

They actually took a do-over! Dunno the title; I do know it's one of the new ones they haven't recorded yet.

I still haven't caught the mess-up; sounded cool to me. Lots of great blips, bleeps, gurgles, and pops. But the show that followed was a little disappointing: too many midtempo songs or slower, too many props and not enough dancing Deakin/Geologist, an overly contented vibe--it was like seeing the Grateful Dead on the sunniest day in the most laid-back corner of Southern California. And I say this as somebody who likes the Grateful Dead, sun, and Southern California.

Recorded on July 12, 2011 using a Flip Video camcorder.
