  • fyi...ghost chili is the hottest pepper and is not genetically modified.

  • @brianwurst1234 you're right, bhut jolokia peppers, aka 'ghost peppers' are the hottest around. Fortunately I used the weasel words, 'probably get', leaving room for bhut jolokia peppers. I'm going to have to go to market and find some now. Thanks!

  • this is probably a good recipe, but you lost me @ "ghetto". The term can be and is too many offensive! However keep on cooking!

  • while I'm not discontinuing my ghetto series I will be releasing a concurrent series on the same channel in the new year (2010) that should be completely flat (inoffensive). The recipes will also be more basic. I'll be doing another series as well that is more budget oriented. Thanks for the input.

  • y is it offensive?

  • because many people living in North America have to be offended by words/names/ideas because no one is actually beating them with sticks and stones.

Metaphors aside it's 'offensive' because I'm white and while I am poor, and do live in a poor neighbourhood it's not a ghetto. It's also offensive because people don't realize where the word ghetto came from, or how it's evolved.

Recently a workmate said to me: "It's offensive because lets face it, you're not hip hop"

  • ¡Muy bien, muchacho!

  • really good recipe. until i read the comments i wasn't sure that you worked in the food industry but so much of that recipe showed your food knowledge is more than above average so that's what i figured.

and for the record i wasn't offended at all at the use of the term ghetto. maybe where everyone else is from its some massively offensive term. but its just urban slang to me, and that's clearly how you intended to use it.

    really well done.

  • i like the way ya did the green pepper...YARRR!!! good stuff.
