@wellthen40 They do have shelters along the trail and you can hunt in season. Some people just make camp where ever they want to...some stay at or around the shelters. Typically the shelters are close to a water source which makes for a great place to stop. ;) c

@wellthen40 Depends on the time of year and what part of the trail. The Appalachian Trail is around 2400 miles and crosses thru like 17 states. Spring and fall there are quite a lot of people and the shelters get pretty full in the evening. ;) c

are you aloud to hunt and fish along the A.T. how does building a camp go? do you just find a place to call home for the night or are there cabins and designated areas for camping and fires?
