Description
Vuge is a band whose music consists of unique and original arrangements of old and forgotten traditional songs from Croatia and other countries.
The band is made up of instruments and vocals that made it unique in its four years of existence.
The instruments are: violin, flute, cimbalom, double bass, kontra, cajon, darbuka, saxophone. These instruments accompany vocals that are singing in a traditional way typical for each country the songs come from and together with more modern rhythms (jazz, blues, swing) make a unique musical fusion.
Another thing typical for Vuge is the constant interwining of melodies and rhythms of the countries whose songs are performed and an aspiration towards multiculturalism through music.
So, tradition in a modern way, melancholy, archaism, fusion, intertwining and multiculturalism are the main pillars of Vuge.

Vuge su bend koji se bavi obrađivanjem starih, tradicijskih, zaboravljenih pjesama iz Hrvatske, ali i ostalih zemalja na sebi svojstven i originalan način.
Bend sadrži karakterističan instrumentarij i vokale po kojima je u 4 godina svog djelovanja postao prepoznatljiv i originalan.
U instrumentariju se nalaze violina, flauta, cimbal, bas, kontra, cajon, tarabuka, saksofon...a on spojen sa arhaičnim vokalima koji njeguju tradicijske načine pjevanja iz zemlje i šire, te modernijim jazz, blues, swing... ritmovima daje unikatan glazbeni spoj.
Uz instrumentarij, karakteristično je i neprekidno ispreplitanje melodija i ritmova svih zemalja čije pjesme izvodimo, te težnja multikulturalizaciji glazbe :)
Dakle tradicija u modernom, melankoličnost, arhaičnost, spajanje, ispreplitanje, multikultura su glavne okosnice koje opisuju Vuge.

Vocal-instrumental band Vuge is young band, but all it's members have been involved in folclore and music since they were children. As members of differrent folclore ansambles we often performed together, and an idea of forming a band was born. The band is performing traditional Croatian music, mostly from Podravina and Medjimurje, but also music from all over the world with a special emphasis on Hungaria an Romania. Band has kept traditional springs and ways of performing, with elements of swing and blues rhythms, and the basic caracteristics is constant interweaving of Croatian, Hungarian and Romanian melodies, what brings out the melancoly atmosphere of almost every song. Band is consisted of vocal and instrumental part. Vocal part is made of three singers who are keeping the traditional ways of singing. The instumental part is made of traditional Croatinan musical instruments, and the elementary frame are the violin, cimbalom, bas and kontra as main instrumentarium of north Croatian folclore.
