Fondant
16 ounces white mini marshmallows
2 to 5 tablespoons water

2 pounds powdered sugar
Combine mini marshmallows with the water. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Once the mixture looks gooey enough, you can begin to stir. Stir the sticky solution until its silky smooth. Now introduce the entire bag of sugar into the marshmallow goop, a little at a time. Empty the bowl's contents onto a well oiled or powdered sugared workspace. And begin folding and kneading the sugary blob. This is going to be sticky. Keep adding sugar until your marshmallow mound resembles play dough.

Vanilla Cake
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup cake flour
¾ tbls baking powder
1 ¼ tsp water,
2 eggs,
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup milk

preheat oven to 350° grease and flour one 9-inch cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper. cream butter, add sugar. continue mixing until fluffy. in separate bowl, mix together dry ingredients. continue stirring sugar mixture, add egg, water, stir. alternately
add dry ingredients and vanilla, mix until batter is silky and smooth.

Buttercream Frosting
3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
3 to 4 tablespoons milk, divided
1/2teaspoon vanilla

combine powdered sugar, butter, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla in large bowl. beat slowly until blended. beat more vigorously until light and fluffy, adding more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, as needed for good spreading consistency.

  • mm, I made this in the shape of a heart for valentines day, wooo! the cake recipe is facking delish. what cake should taste like. however, the fondant looks better than it tastes..but it's fun to make. thank you sherry!!

  • Cool. I'm pleased as pie you made the cake. Next video is gonna be a whole st. patty's party. your friends will be so impressed by you. Hey, I love the taste of the fondant. I like chalky sugary stuff.

  • Did you take pictures? I'd love to see your cake.

  • I know! That's why I made the cake so small. My next food video will be less sugary. I was actually just wondering why you hadn't commented. Great vids on your behalf too. I'm glad to see you "tub'n."

  • I watched this video six times the first hour I saw it, and here is what I remember:

    1. You need a better cutting board.

    2. The mixing bowl fits perfectly in the Apple microwave - good shopping!

    3. The dress and apron are perfect. What an eye for production values! You could take Betty Crocker's old job. If they see this, they've gotta call.

  • The cutting board came with the apartment. C'est la vie.
