This Special Event StorySlam at World Cafe Live was presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Free Library for One Film and One Book, One Philadelphia highlighting the "hiddent talent" themes in the film Basquiat and the book The Soloist. First Person Arts is a Philadelphia-based non-profit dedicated to memoir and documentary art in a variety of forms. Our monthly StorySlams are competitive storytelling events. Volunteers are invited to tell a five-minute true story related to each monthly theme and they're scored by volunteer judges in the crowd. Live StorySlams happen every 4th Tuesday at L'Etage Cabaret (6th and Bainbridge, Philadelphia, PA)
