I think this raccoon is the older of the 2 that visited. OK, cool! I wish I still had the raccoons around to feed, but I shot these videos on vacation... I'll try that out next time I (hopefully) get a chance to feed raccoons again, which won't be for at least 5 months or so. I've actually tried dog food at home, which gulls seem to love, but all I get interested at home are feral cats - strange, isn't it...?

They just look so innocent, don't they... "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful... and because I'm stealing all of the food - GIMME!"

can raccoons be kept as pets if they are somehow bred captive?

It's possible, but it depends where you're living - it's legal in some areas, and illegal in other areas. I've always wanted a pet raccoon too - :) I've heard they can be quite destructive though, and they can get very tempramental - do a Google search for "Remo Raccoon" - that's one of the best resources about pet raccoons that I know of.

They're one of mine too! - This raccoon that kept coming to this particular BFP setup was my first ever! - I don't have them in this area either, so I was really fortunate to be able to see and tape it! I'd really like to see raccoons here too, but I think that's probably a pipe dream...
