Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) delivered a copy of the House version of health care "reform" (which my co-blogger Shoebox has termed "PlaceboCare") to the Franklin Public Library as part of a townhall meeting.
In this segment, Ryan breaks the news that a unified Republican alternate amendment will be offered with no idea whether it will be allowed and continues to take questions.
Other questions in this segment include what happens when the debt doubles under this plan (Ryan notes that the original Medicare estimates were off by a factor of 9), whether illegal aliens are covered (supposedly not, but the provision is written in an unenforceable way), how the majority will get the votes needed to get it out of the House (wait until the end of next week for the pork to fly), when will the unified substitute come out (the generalities will be part of Minority Leader John Boehner's radio address tomorrow), how Medicare Advantage will be curtailed ($170 billion in cuts, which the Medicare actuaries say will result in 64% losing it and rate hikes for the rest), a question on auditing the Fed (Ryan is a co-sponsor), what method of contact is best (Ryan treats them all the same, but personal visits are the best), and what the tally at Ryan's office is (9-1 against).
Paul Ryan is a mediocre actor/poitician/corporate lap dog. Ayn Rand would gut this coward.
