Great stuff. If you want to go and watch them they are normally to be found around the services on the M74 between junction 22 and 21 during the winter. There is a service road that runs alongside the motorway (B7076) most people seem to think this is a good place to watch them from - it is but if you do decide to park there try leaving your sidelights on and wearing a high vis bib because when the pretty birds are flying peoples road sense seems to flutter away too!

Too true! Take care everyone. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the starlings seemed to be roosting at the right hand side of the service station. I reckon there must be at least a million this year. Anybody else counting?
